At our university in the 5th term students have to gain practical experience at a design agency, many take this as an opportunity to go to another city or even another country. The desire to keep contact with everybody of our semester arised and I was asked to build a web page containing contact data and perhaps a forum.
Being not content with keeping a web page up to date manually, setting up a forum like phpBB, SMF or figuring out how to customize a CMS, I wrote my own small portal based on php and mySQL.
Features include:
- contact information
- a small blog with comments function
- the ability to upload pictures in a gallery
- a simple forum
It went live in september 2004, was well received and got a redesign in 2007.
